Tewksbury, MA-based ECRM will launch three new platesetters at Graph Expo 2010. Each new MAKO platesetter is engineered with the company’s enhanced Gen4 optics, to produce a smaller, harder imaging pixel. These platesetters are fully compatible with the new Agfa Azura V plates and other chem-free and lo-chem plate technologies. The new MAKO 200, MAKO 400, and MAKO 400matic will be available beginning October 3.
The MAKO 400 is a 4-up platesetter which offers flatbed violet imaging technology with new ECRM patented enhanced imaging Gen4 optics. The MAKO 400 offers the highest quality image output with resolution sets from 1200 to 3556 dpi. It’s also one the fastest 4-page solutions in its class, imaging over 25 Speedmaster 74 plates per hour at 2400 dpi.
The MAKO 400matic is an automated, full-featured 4-up CTP platesetter engineered for the most demanding applications. Accommodating a range of 2-, 4-, and 6-page presses at speeds of over 25 plates per hour at 2,400 dpi, the MAKO 400matic images any plate size between 15.15 x 11.4 inches (384mm x 290 mm) up to 25 x 36.5 inches (635mm x 927mm).
The MAKO 200 is a 2-up platesetter, providing a cost-effective entry into CTP production. Offering a full resolution range of 1,200 to 3,556 dpi, it delivers 34 plates per hour at 2,400 dpi. It accommodates commercial plates up to 22 x 26.4 inches (560mm x 670mm).
ECRM has released its RIP v8.3. Powered by the latest Harlequin RIP technology, it is engineered to harness the production and workflow attributes of Apple’s new Snow Leopard (10.6.x) operating system, as well as Microsoft’s Windows 7. In addition, RIP 8.3 will also support the newly announced ECRM DM Screening (digitally modulated screening algorithms) in production environments. The new RIP version is scheduled to be available through ECRM and its worldwide dealer network beginning October 1, 2010. Upgrades for current 8.1 users to v8.3 are scheduled to cost less than $250. Users purchasing RIPmate Plus, WorkMates or DM Screening modules will receive a free upgrade to RIP 8.3.
