Ibis's Smart-binders are claimed to be able to run in line with the highest speed printers available.
A typical system comprises a Delphax digital printer, Ehret cutter and Ibis's SB-3 booklet finishing system, which operates at 500 feet per minute with 39gsm paper stock weight and produces both saddle-stitched and ISG glued booklets.
The system uses an additional (MBO) folder in front of the Ibis Smart-binder, which is the key to both higher speeds and light paper weights, said the company.
The folder has been optimised for the 39gsm, 27lb paper weight.
