Colorific has launched a bio solvent ink that uses food-grade solvents that are classed as non-flammable, non-toxic and non-hazardous, and don't need fume extraction.
The Colorific Bio range is claimed to offer good adhesion, ensuring resistance to scratching, alcohol and cleaning fluids, making them suitable for use without laminating or coating.
Printers using Epson DX3 and DX4 print heads from companies including Mimaki, Mutoh, Roland, Seiko and Uniform are compatible with the inks which are available via Colorific dealers in 16 countries across four continents.
They are available in CMYK, light cyan, light magenta, orange and green.
"End users want to know that print service providers are doing their bit to offer an economic alternative," said Colorific European sales director Colm Garvey.
